Soldiers and army

I was raised in Helsinki where at least academical people appeared to be very doubtful of the need to go to military service. Since they could not think of better alternative, at least not yet working one, they let things stay but still were doubtful about the need for an army and valued a lot intelligent conversations and peaceful ways.
(In Finland it used to be that only men go to military service and they may choose between military and civil service. Nowadays those young women who so wish, can go to military service. The possibility came when I was maybe 25 but I was not interested in it, since I am not a malicious character and going to army brings a colder reputation, more manlika.)
I think otherwise. I think that justice needs the ability to defend oneself, one's group and moral ideals. And also in conversations those whose tactic works well for others too, get best listened to, and those with serious drawbacks to others get bypassed.

I have since I was a baby tried to be a good soldier. For me that has meant sports and trying to have a good capacity in most skills. But mainly I have been interested in the role of a strategist and in the viewpoint of highest leaders where one thinks of the whole society, both peace and war time, and of the enemy nation's workings and of the rest of the world with it's influence, dynamics and values. In personal life this has meant interest in social skills and in the workings of the Finnish society at the level of individuals and wisdom of life. That is why my book is somehow from the military point of view, yet at the same time quite peaceful and economy oriented. I have tended to think that to be a woman and to be from a small peaceful nation with democracy share this same mixture of wise tactics in military questions leading to a more peaceful situation yet with the army needed.

Biological picture of humans

It appears that it was my task to write the things that I thought that others could think through on their own. Well, they could not, and I was always kind of commanding that pay attention to these things, think them throroughly with your common sense and the biological picture of humans. So I was forced to write these things that I think that Finns and many others can well understand if they read them well explained. In a way quite obvious, but just an afterthought of mine. It seems that I am now done with this writing task.

The feelings my texts bring

I have solved big questions in our pictures of the world, so removed threaths from upon our future, both global (rationally grounded traditional Finnish moral, feelings, moral and rationality for computers, work efficiency) and personal (dream job, shorter working days with full wage and lighter school). Solving big problems leaves the reader relieved and puzzled about what there is left to do. Often one feels sad, kind of mourning big problems afterwards, but at the same time relieved. My solutions are mostly only at the level of theory and that leaves an empty feeling like theoretical things often do, since it is the level of practice that lives and fates depend on and that is still left to do, but still there is hope now, more freedom to live as a feeling being who cares and understands about the future of the world.

The scales in my life

The global future is a huge question, much bigger than anything else we usually associate with. If now that I have written what I know about global issues, I take a look at the scales in my life, it is much different. Global future for maybe three lifetimes or whatever it is, is at the scale of 20 000 000 000 people. My position after I have written is as a moral individual with a good understanding, at the scale of Finland, my hometown Savonlinna or smaller. So from the global scale of 7 000 000 000 people I have changes to 1/1400 or 1/ 300 000 of the scale of the previous context, plus time scale getting much shorter. Still my own life is at the scale of one person, which makes it still 1/30 000 smaller, that means 1/ 20 000 000 000 of the scale of my texts on the global future. And what I get money from is likely to be on the smallest scales too, my work less important than my moral. In a sense it aren't such a big difference though: I was just writing, a piece of knowledge tnat I happened to know, communicated with my teaching skills. That is very different from making decisions, from commanding anything - such power I haven't ever had. And now my work is done.

My upbringing as a baby

When I was a baby, my parents were interested in that I should grow up with a good capacity. When I was two weeks old, they took me along to the forest to see the trees, plants and little birds. When I was maybe one month old they took me along to a concert of a symphony orchestra and someone else there who was musical held me part of the time to teach me to understand music. (If I still remember it, it must have been opera Taikahuilu (= "Magic flute?") by Mozart by the picture of it's melody.) I remember thinking, oh humans' world is this complex and there is valuable wisdom about feelings too to be learned. So that for sure taught me to conceive more complex wholes. That wisdom of feelings I have now tens of years later found from trying to see music like it's composer, but I have sought valuable emotiomal wisdom all my life. The Finnish culture also values the nature, sports, individual understanding, freedom and understanding the society.

What I build upon

School and the university never suited me, I suffered from them and build nothing much upon them in my thinking or in my life at large. When I think of my education, I think of my time in the farming school, which I enjoyed very much and foud good for me in many ways, and my time in the wilderness guide course, which was a dream come true for me. In thinking too I build upon my life at large: doing practicalthings, admiring the beauty of nature, practising sports, taking part in the environmental movement, communicating with animals, singing, reading poems, painting, reading oriental philosophy and praying and doing women's culturally valuing things. I did not learn much in school, neither in university. My science skills I learned at an early age from my parents and my thinking got stuck in the university and it was a great relief to get rid of my studies there and to do practical things and practise sports which make me many times as intelligent just like that. Later on I learned a lot from teaching circus tricks to my dogs.

My intellectual forefigures

My parents were always enthusiastically interested in science and mostly only in science. So I was taught scientifical thinking and the goal of a career in scientifical research from early age always when I associated with my parents.
But I didn\t have much own ambitions of the same kind. My parents' views were narrow in the sense of science only, so I had myself the  goal of building a better world view. When I was 15, I saw a video of the Finnish philosopher Georg Henrik von Wright speaking and he seemed to have a picture of the world which I admired then. Laso later on I have valued the intelligence of theoretical philosophy and also listened to some lectures in it.
But more than that my thinking has been influenced by my idea of my roots as a Finn> of Kalevala, Vainamoinen and famous old Finnish paintings in the art museum Ateneum.
And even much more than that I have seeked to learn from the wild nature, especially from nature views and the little birds called tit, "tiainen" in Finnish. I have always been aware of the differencies of animals' lives and human lives, so I have always copied only features that go surely right in any case, like keen eyes, the widening of attention when one is in pleasant mood, sports skills, things on a very general level and lately communication skills.
I have also valued the profoundity of the ideal of life like in the Orthodox New Valamo (which in Finnish means roughly "my oath") monasteryin eastern Finland, and tried to reach for similarly healthy feeling responsible way of living myself. But my parents and the upbringing I got were purely atheistical.
I have also always thought that Finnish women are more intelligent than Finnish men, so I have copied mostly from women but seeked to follow and discuss with the views of all.
From about 30 years of age to maybe 30 I read about zen, Tao-Te-Cing and  New Age books. I also read poetry and considered it good for developing intrelligence since it pays attention to atmospheres, feelings and different ways of looking at things. Similarly I have valued music and art at large.
To be clear, I have always considered the wild animals and in some sense also the tress\ looks superintelligent. I consider also religion very intelligent but don\t have much experience in it.
I value especially practical professions for wisdom of life. Similarly I value sports.

What is big and what is not

If tehse thoughts really are that huge and come to influence as widely as they maybe might, then that is the work of many people and all of them together would be one or two sentences in a thousand pages long world history book, or a small piece of news in a newspaper. And the newspaper is full of news, often about bosses, countries and districts, of things that handle really many people, and still there are so many news every day! Come to think of it, when I play a song, someone has composed it and I admire such things as worth a lifetime's work, just best songs in a song book, all songs so. Or anythings else, is I for example buy something from the shop, it is some good idea, skill, insight with style and good life. Just about all the things we meet are the work of some who are very skilled and have worked hard to achieve what they did. And so we buy a newspaper and the piece of news is one among a hundred and rest of the year there is nothing about it - but a mass of things done, worthy glamorous things all over everywhere, that's what we work for, I just didn't notice it before.

How I learned my thinking skills

I have learned my thinking skills through practise. I was not especially intelligent to begin with but I have a character which values good spirit and good quality in everything.
The Finnish school takes as it's aim that each individual would be able to think things through by oneself and form one's opinions based on one's own good understanding. Storytelling, words, imagination, lying, style and depate are not valued. Instaed one values intelligent conversation where each individual tries to make life better in the society. So people are not seen as opposing each other but as comraden in a joint effort for good life and a good understaning of the world and of life. Social position is not valued but instead quality, moral and good character.
I tend to aim at thorough work. I value good quality. I am humble in a sense: I think that the world is great and I am just someone who does not have so much skills, so I try my best when the task is important. But if the task is not important for good life, then I let it go and do not bother about it.
I pay attention to almosy all types of things and never aim at certain style. I do not learn thinking by copying style but by trying my best in my own common sense like ways the tasks that I estimate challenging or important. I value free time especially mcuh, and music, sports etc. I value the type of intelligence that animals have, somelthing like arts. I enjoy the senses, especially the beauty of nature and quick motion while watching the landscape like bicykling or practising sports. I value religion, good moral and good spirit in things and think that these things are important in choosing the main things in anything in life, but I was not raised religiously, but as an atheist whose parents had taken science as their "religion". I value the way music perceives the world. I do not value math or computers but just survive them through. I think that they give no insight and are bad for thinking akills since they are so artifical. I prefer a walk in the nature watching the magnifient beauty ofg trees, such traing the eye sight for thinking and is much better for intelligence!
My ways of thinking are practical and with emotions and wisdom of life, with the sense of atmospheres too. So they are like those of people in practical professions like handicrafts and farming etc. And they are typical women's ways with the social observations done with the sense of atmospheres and an understanding of the social workings of the society.

My total work

When I was a small child I already felt intensively the lack of a proper picture of the world with which to guide one's life and solve the world's problems. In the following decades I built such a picture of the world and here in my texts I have tried to solve many big problems of the world. Mostly these answers are applications of rationally grounded moral, see
* my paradise theory http://2013paradise.blogspot.fi
* curing future threaths, see the beginning of my book at http://2013paradise.blogspot.fi
* moral for computers http://feelingcomputers.blogspot.fi the first text there and the above mentioned book's view on moral that is so mechanical that it could be taught to future computers too

In addition:
* a view on work efficiency and feelings that supports much more free time if work results count http://www.SoMuchMoreFreeTime.info
* advices on learning objective thinking and intelligence http://www.youtube.com/khtervola and http://pikakoulu.blogspot.fi the latter in Finnish language and contains a view on intelligence that could be used to shorten school
* so that humans could learn to respect natural healthy ways of living, it is useful if even some animals somewhere have learned human like skills http://lukevatkoirat.blogspot.fi and http://www.youtube.com/khtervola
* advices on learning moral http://healthilymoral.blogspot.fi
* feminist values: feelings and moral, explained for sovinists http://www.angelfire.com/planet/paradisewins/TPBCASAW.pdf
* feelings for computers http://feelingcomputers.blogspot.fi
* a theory of how to awaken from death via lightening one's way of living http://kuolemastajasurusta.blogspot.fi plus a guess on how to recover from ilnesses and wounds http://mututerveys.blogspot.fi
* advices on how to learn talents and skills for one's dream job http://nopeaoppisuus.blogspot.fi

These are the major things that I have written about. Now I no longer know which problem I should try to solve. I have only cerrtain answers, they are not fitted to every problem. So it seems to me that my work is already done, but of course I will keep my eyes open...

My starting point as a child

When I was maybe two weeks old, my parents took me to forest,, to see the trees. And when I was maybe one month old they took me to a symphony concert. So I learned at an early age that in life one needs to be able to conceive complex structures.
But my observational abilities must have been not so good to begin with, since when I was 2 or 3 years old, I had a wooden toy with pieces of different shapes that fit into holes of the same shape in a wooden box. I remember thinking that it was quite difficult because the wide cross and the star looked almost exactly the same and likewise a half circle and a circle looked almost the same. One never could know which of them fitted to a hole of the same shape since I needed to turn them and turn them until finally they fitted in. Somehow I find it like an elementary version of finding solutions to a problem in thinking, see my thinking course for that!
In school I was longing for more profound views and philosophy of life, moral etc.

About my new ideas

What there are new ideas in my thoughts, seem to be mostlly interpretations from one perspective to another, easpcially from feelings to mechanical language and from moral to cool calculations. These skills are a result of using one single pictrure of each thing and of the whole world in my thinking, so each side of things is seen in relation to the other perspectives every time that either one is used. This is a habit and skill that I had already as a child. Propably it is born out of the emphazis on holistic rationality in my upbringing and of how I was talked about the differencies of people's views: "Propably they both (in a discussion/debate) are right in their views but they notice different things because they have different skills. The thing of course is the same but they notice different things about it. A wise one would notice all those things and more about it."

For You

I have made about a thousand (mainly soundless text) videos at http://www.youtube.com/khtervola . Most of them contain advices of some sort.
Then there is my book at http://www.angelfire.com/planet/paradisewins/2013paradise.rtf .
And these over 30 blogs of mine.
Many of these are new perspectives and new ideas, new solutions to important problems. They are of no use unless others, very many others, grap them in connection with their work and favourite hobbies and make them more widely known. These are just ideas. Those who get famous for something are those who speak about it in their work. That is a whole lifetime's work.

Generally these thoughts have taken me a couple of seconds or less time to think about. Still, they are my best guess of what a solution to that question is like, so spending any more time pondering does not bring any new insight. Typically it takes me from 15 to 30 minutes to write them down, that is 30 times 15 or 30 = 450-900 times as long as thinking took.
Academical work is thought of as thinking work. If someone would like me to work in some of these subjects, that would even in one week (working 8 to 4 five days a week) bring 100 times time spend without any new results. In one year it would be 5 000 times, in ten yearns 50 000 times and in 25 years over 100 000 times the 450-900 times time spent in working compared to what the subject needs for thorough good work. That is about 50 million times the time that makes sense from the practical point of view. That is far too much!
So if you find yourself suited to work with some of these subjects, please take it to yourself, since I am not fitted to any academical work!
This is like 1 cm compared to 500 km! I much prefer the 1 cm of effort. Thanks... Anyway, it is the same amount of work done, just a different amount of labour invested.

There is a like difference in emotional intelligence: a life situation that takes me a second or two to adapt to, would require the average Finnish man a half a year. That is a difference of 1 : 10 000 000 or so.

About my ways of thinking

* Every time that I meet an importtant question of the wide world that needs to be solved (like the need for better life of school pupils) and that I cannot solve, I mark up in my mind that is left unsolved and should be solved, what is my best quess about what I need to develop to be able to solve it, and make a very rough scetch of how much I would need time for that and how it would be possible. So since I do not give up and do not accept too low quality solutions, I develop better as the time passes. After 10, 20 30, 40 years of practise I maybe can solve what seemed impossible to begin with.

* I use a single picture in all my thinking. It is a picture of the whole world and formed from experiences and maps plus what else I have managed to learn. See Link for learning it. So when I meet some single perspective, I at the same time learn to see it also from other points of view since they are all in the same picture, like the same thing seen from different directions. This is no complex thing but a very simple trick, please see the link for that.

* Since I am not interested in thinking but in the usefulness of thinking, I concentrate on the essential and do not like to waste time pondering. So I manage to get bigger things done with less time used in thinking.

* Feelings, new things and other vague sounding things I mark up in the same picture of the whole world, and so across time I learn more about them aqnd their relationship to the rest of the world, and so they become concretical information which I can well understand.

* In my picture of the whole I let things keep their own atmosphere, so I know at once their sources and degree of trustworthiness. Like here is some thing and what someone has told me about it: two markings on top of each other but clearly separate because of having a different atmosphere.

* Often when I meet someone who has a skill that I admire, I try to learn their skills without giving up my own or my personality except for greater wisdom of life and what the changing of life situation and typical things to do brings. That goes easiest by copying the concentration to different sides of life: like seeing, hearing, moving, different types of sociality, emotional life, memory etc., that the skill is based on - but no more copying except what a social character brings.

* I have always noticed that trees are more complex than houses and other build things in our living environment. So I have noticed that looking at trees and comparing thoughts to trees brings superior intelligence compared to comparing to houses and looking at build things.

Open-minded practise brings great skill

My main goal in life has all my life been to live a happy fulfilling life. One side of that is to have a world that is good to live in. So one little thread among all my personal endeavours has always been to not to ruin the living conditions in the world at large and to do my little share of making the world a better place to live in. In practise that has meant for me to alongside my other life endeavours to build a picture of the whole world so as to see what my deeds affect in the world at large, and to live a happy life with healthy mind and spirit, with healthy natural ages old ways of living as far as I can arrange in this modern world, so as to lead my social environment and the society on my part to ways of living that are good for living a good life now and in the future.
Building a good picture of the world needs an ok thinking ability. So since I like all the other kids needed to go to school, I took building these to be one of the tasks that school could help me to do. Since I had academical parents, that together with school brought me enermous amounts of thinking practise in school like things. Personally I valued the school dropouts most, so I took to my heart to value wisdom of life and not to let questions go unanswered if school did not manage to find them any answers. My likings supported sports, arts and handiworks and true friendship.
Later on I studied in the university and copied from there the inclination to value intelligence and the goal of developing in intelligence. But I did not value the university. Instead I valued New Age, physical work, sports, greatly arts, religions, women's wisdom and feminism, some philosophers and intellectually demanding good quality books, animals, natural communication, free time, the nature, friendship, global responsibility, wisodm of life etc. I took these also as things which bring greater wisdom than university studies. Only after I quit my studies in teh university and was submerger in all these kinds of things, I started to develop in intelligence. I noticed that I could find answers to many questions that most university students could not. Communicational skills became of major importance, so also teaching skills in teaching intelligence and completely new ideas and new ways of looking at things, also teaching talents.
Later on I started writing, at first that was a continuation of my university conversations in environmental issues and later on I just tried what I could maybe solve on my own if I was allowed to use my own point of view which brought many answers to questions where the university professions were stuck. So at first I wrote down some answers, then more, mostly about the rational selfishness-based grounds for good moral. So I wrote my first booklet "Power Politics Brings Excellent Moral". Since I had managed to write my thoughts down, I tried writing down also the more unusual rational views that women's culture has, I thought that my university background was a good ground for that, so I wrote a book about the hard rationality of following feelings fully in the light o9f the theory of evolution. Later on I wrote about the beautiful picture of the world that these pieces of understanding lead to: my paradise theory. Good is a valuable asset in the tough world. If only people all over the world could understand it...
Having written down these academical style of things, I was left with a liking towards philosophy of life and animal kind of intelligence. So I started writing down advices which support more natural more fficient ways to think and develop in skills. This produced my hundreds of soundless text videos about developing in intelligence and in skills at http://www.youtube.com/khtervola .
Having written about developing in skills, I wanted to learn something myself, something that I would like and which would let me enjoy the benefits that a greater skills could bring and which would for the first time in my life let me do something relying in my own skills and not just in university lessons. I started training my dogs, to see if I could show how intelligent animals are, so that humans could believe that they had a lot to learn from animals and that those were also lessons well suited to living in the modern world with it's cities, schooling etc. Having taught my dogs, I wanted to teach myself something too, and so I enjoyed greatly learning about arts: painting, composing and singing and learning about dance.
As I have in the past decades learned a lot about thinking, I have risen to meet ever more criterions about true objectivity, worth and profoundity and usefulness. I have come to value observational skills that can be taught by sports, physical work, love for the nature, sensitivity to animal communication, sincerety, religion, arts, friendly social life etc. And in thgought I am interested in that they could successfully solve major unanswered problems of the world (This is often achieved by using new perspectives which bring new answers.), do this in healthy ways that are good to use in the long run and easy to adopt - which brings the fascination of music to be a model of a good solution: I hear it, so I at once learn it and begin to use it and it makes my life, happiness, social relationships, the world at large and all kinds of endeavour run smoothly, well, enjoyable, withoput any problems, quickly and well, all things work out and that is just born from hearing some little piece of music, seen a short piece of film or a poem! Yes, nowadays I think that a good thought has the form of art!!!
